This timber is difficult to work with both hand or machine tools, but can be finished to a very high standard. It is used for flooring and furniture (visible) parts. Good for outdoor use.

Heartwood:

Yellowish brown to greenish olive brown. Very lustrous.

Sapwood:

Paler but not clearly defined.

Grain:

From straight to irregular.

Texture:

Fine to medium.

Durability:

Durable to very durable.

Kilning:

Fairly easy to kiln dry.

Shrinkage:

Small.

Strength:

A strong timber.

Weight:

920 to 930 kg./cu.m.
